Lead Pastor

Luke Bylsma

As lead pastor, Luke sets the vision for Gospel Light Church and guides the congregation through preaching and teaching.

He has a Master of Divinity (MDiv.) from Virginia Beach Theological Seminary. Before becoming a pastor at Gospel Light, Luke served for 8 years as an associate pastor and then as the youth and children’s pastor at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Michigan.

He and his wife Karin moved to Utah in 2022 to help spread the good news of Jesus Christ in the Salt Lake Valley. They have 4 sweet kids: Hailey, Ian, Judson, and Madelyn.

James Gomez

Pastor James Gomez has faithfully served Gospel Light Church for more than 20 years, first as a deacon and then as a pastor, starting in 2005.

He led preaching and teaching at the church for two decades before Pastor Luke joined the staff.
