Lead Pastor
Luke Bylsma
As lead pastor, Luke sets the vision for Gospel Light Church and guides the congregation through preaching and teaching.
He has a Master of Divinity (MDiv.) from Virginia Beach Theological Seminary. Before becoming a pastor at Gospel Light, Luke served for 8 years as an associate pastor and then as the youth and children’s pastor at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Michigan.
He and his wife Karin moved to Utah in 2022 to help spread the good news of Jesus Christ in the Salt Lake Valley. They have 4 sweet kids: Hailey, Ian, Judson, and Madelyn.

Dave Kush
Pastor Dave leads community group ministry at Gospel Light and has a burden for seeing Christ magnified through the lives of His people.
He was trained through a 2-year theological program at his previous church where he served as an elder for 8 years. Dave loves to see people grow in their faith and enjoys counseling couples toward a thriving and Christ-centered marriage.
Dave and his wife Jana moved to Utah with their two sons in 2021 for work and a life change. Little did they know that God was preparing them for ministry too. Dave works full-time as a robotics engineer while balancing ministry, family, and discipleship.

Nic Higgins
Pastor Nic leads the Sunday School ministry at the church and has a passion for seeing people grow in their knowledge of God’s Word and walk faithfully with Christ.
After earning an MA in Biblical Studies from Maranatha Baptist Seminary, Nic moved to Utah in 2012 as part of a church-planting team, trusting God’s call to help establish and strengthen gospel-centered ministry in Salt Lake City. He loves teaching the Scriptures, discipling believers, and counseling people through difficult life circumstances with biblical wisdom and compassion.
Nic serves full-time as a chaplain with Good News Global at the Salt Lake County Jail, where he ministers to men and women through the hope of the gospel. He and his wife are blessed with three children and are grateful for the opportunity to serve the church while balancing family, ministry, and vocational calling.

Alex Morrison
Alex is a bivocational pastor who oversees the host team ministry, where he helps members and guests get connected and plugged in at Gospel Light.
He graduated from Gateway Seminary in 2023 with a Master of Divinity (MDiv.). He has lived in Utah since 2005 and is originally from British Columbia, Canada.His desire is to see the congregation grow in caring for one another and bearing each other’s burdens.
He and his wife Anna have been married since 2023. They have a son, Theodore, and a daughter on the way.
